Thirty-five years ago, with my husband and five children, I left the Scottish Highlands where we had lived for ten years, to settle in South East Queensland.
Painting has always been part of my life, but circumstances, family and work have always placed it in the background.
Since joining the Redcliffe Art Society around 17years ago, and now being fortunate enough to be a member of the Dayboro Art Gallery, I am able to focus more on my art, exploring different mediums and enhancing my skills through workshops etc.
At present my favourite medium is watercolour, I also love working with pastels and lately have enjoyed experimenting with alcohol inks.
I have been fortunate to have had my work recognised by receiving several awards over the years.
Through my painting I strive to capture some of the colour and beauty which surrounds us all.
Painting can be enjoyable and fulfilling, challenging and frustrating. Above all, it is a creative outlet which enriches my life with like-minded friends.
