Who are you, and what do you do? A working artist with a busy life which blends my art practice with family and friends.

What has been your most influencing experience?

My grade 8 art teacher and a very supportive mother encouraged me to go to art school way back when.

What jobs are you doing/have done other than being an artist?

I’ve had an extensive career as a graphic designer and art director. In later years, further study and teaching art have allowed me to return to my first love of painting.

What does your work aim to say?

My research and artistic direction has shown my passion for the environment… 

How much time does it take to create a painting?

Some works take weeks and others days. Generally, my preferred medium is oils but more recently I have been exploring detailed botanical drawings of Australian native flowers using inks on paper.

What is the most heart-warming/crazy/funny experience with your art/art journey?

Mostly fun I have is usually teaching in class. One fellow was quite a good artist but he used to match a colour he wanted with a separate tube of paint… quite expensive until he came to my class and learned how to mix colours with the basic 4 + black and white. He was delighted. Funny!!!
