Artist Trudy Brooks

Trudy’s love of art developed while studying at high school and teachers’ college.  She was born in England but has spent most of her life living in a variety of areas throughout Queensland.  During this period, she took the opportunity to attend as many workshops as possible.  These included programs organized by the Flying Art School and the University of Southern Queensland’s McGregor Summer School.

Red Rock Valley by Trudy Brooks

Trudy has painted in oils, pastels and acrylics but her passion at present is experimenting with watercolour.  She loves the fact the watercolour paint appears to have a mind of its own which the artist can utilize to enhance the creativity of the work.   She is inspired by Australian watercolour artists such as Greg Allen, Joseph Zbukvic and David Taylor.   She is fascinated by the way these artists use the white of the paper to capture light.
