The Dayboro Grapevine – Dayboro Art Gallery – June Edition

The Dayboro Art Gallery, situated on Williams Street in the main heart of Dayboro, provides an amazing display of original artworks in so many genres, mediums and styles. The gallery has recently added additional plinths so you can enjoy the many hand-built creations in earthy tones displayed for visitors to see and wonder in awe at the potters and artisan’s skills and imagination.

This month’s article is throwing the spotlight on a couple of artists, Cheryl Srodzinski and Christina Walker. Cheryl’s magnificent hand-built pottery creations will entice you to stay and view a little longer. In Cheryl’s words clay is her main love but she also paints in acrylics and is passionate about ‘upcycling’ discarded items to make new and beautiful things. One of her latest creations is yet to be named. Another hand-built artwork in clay and wood is titled Still at Home. This piece is adorable and will melt your heart!

Christina Walker displays a very original style in her artworks that captivates the viewers. Christina describes being influenced by living in different countries and by her extensive traveling and overcoming adversity and uncertainty. In Christina’s words “I feel compelled to share my experiences: everything deserves a second glance, life is too precious to ignore or waste”. Thus nature, people, animals, and the space we as humans occupy in the world are prominent in her art.
